Solid white oak, 5 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick, milled tongue and groove on all four sides and kiln dried before it ships.
The boards arrive as a rift and quartered mix, so the grain runs straight down the plank with the occasional ray fleck breaking through. It is the calmest floor we sell and the one that moves least with the seasons.
#1 Common carries open character — knots, streak and a wider colour range than Select — at a price that reflects it.
It ships unfinished, so the stain and sheen are decided on site after the floor is down and sanded — the only way to match an existing floor exactly.
Random lengths run 1 to 7 feet. Each box covers 20 square feet.
Nail or staple down over an approved wood subfloor. Solid wood is not rated for below-grade installation.
