Pick one and we’ll ask the questions that suit it — real wood is judged on grain and knots, vinyl on how much wear it takes. Every floor we stock is then scored against your answers and ranked, so you always get a best match. Or just browse all flooring.
Solid wood has to be nailed or stapled into a wood subfloor, and it moves with the seasons — so a slab or a wet room rules it out, on the ground floor as much as in a basement. Anything ruled out dims up top and says why.
Grade is the industry’s measure of knots and colour variance — and it sets how much you’ll cut up as waste.
Pick the ones you like the look of — or none, if grain isn’t the deciding factor.
Bundles with no short boards cost more — culling the shorts is the work. Longer boards mean fewer end joints.
Long boards are the look — fewer end joints across a room. Solid runs to 10 and 12 ft; engineered tops out near 7 ft, because that is what the press makes.
Setting a budget hides the mill-to-order cuts, which are quoted rather than priced.
